Greetings from Galveston

We visited the Space Center Houston many years ago. We decided to go back to see the new exhibits.

Independence Plaza
Shuttle replica Independence, mounted on top of the historic and original NASA 905 shuttle carrier aircraft.
Rocket Park
Home of the Saturn V rocket

The rocket was originally outside, but weather had started to take its toll. The building was built around the rocket for protection. The rocket is about a football field in length.

Our friends Rob and Claudia came for a visit. What a great time. Cherry Limeade for all.

    1. OMG!! Why are you in MO and not in Pandion Ridge? Did you decide to stay home due to COVID? We are in Corpus Christ currently which is right on the Gulf of Mexico and we are forecasted to get snow and freezing temps. I can only imagine the weather in MO. Stay warm and Happy Valentine’s Day.

  3. Thanks for sharing, it is on our list of activities for that area. Our neighbors from Austin now live in
Magnolia and we plan to visit Space Center sometime soon.
    Happy Valentines!

  4. How long are you in Galveston? Would love to come see you both and have lunch or dinner sometime…once the weather improves! We are in Houston now getting our vaccines.

  5. So sounds like you may have been in Texas during our strange winter ice/snow storm. Hope you stayed warm and it did not keep you form your many plans. I have not been to the Space Center in many years. It was great to see your photos. We will go to Durango CO in May as we normally do and will be there til October. If you plan to be near the area, please give us a call and we sill try to meet us. Stay healthy and safe travels.

    1. Hi Sue, We were in Corpus when the storm hit. We didn’t lose electric but our heater went out in the rig. We had a small space heater and the electric fireplace to keep warm. Still it was a cold few days. The water was also out for us. We had a full tank so that helped.
Glad you are going to Durango this year. We won’t be in Colorado this year. Heading to the Dakotas and Montana for the better part the summer. Be safe
